What is your favourite part about being a surveyor?
I get to see interesting houses in beautiful locations throughout Stoke and Staffordshire.
In the area that you cover, which place do you like to visit?
I cover the Staffordshire Moorlands which includes part of the Peak District which. Getting to visit the Peak District regularly is much better than an office job!
When you were a child, what was your dream job?
I always wanted to be a footballer, but I was nowhere near good enough!
Any funny stories that have happened whilst you have been a surveyor?
A lady recently came and got in my car when I was outside her property in Congleton because she thought I was a taxi.
If you were going out on a Friday night, where would you go?
Good food and good beer with friends possibly with some live music thrown in. We often go to the market town of Stone which has some good restaurants and bars and is close to home.
Tell us a bit about properties in Stoke?
Stoke-on-Trent, or simply ‘Stoke’, is a city in Staffordshire. The city is made up of six towns: Stoke, Hanley, Burslem, Tunstall, Longton, and Fenton. Together, these towns are known as the Potteries due to their historic association with the pottery industry. In fact, many of its residential areas feature traditional terraced houses that were built to house workers in the local industry. However, there are also many newer properties and developments available in the city.
One of the key advantages of Stoke-on-Trent’s property market is its affordability. Property prices in the city are generally lower than in other parts of the UK, which makes it an attractive location for first-time buyers and investors.
The surrounding areas of Stoke-on-Trent also have a range of different properties available. In both Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stafford there are many properties available to suit different budgets and lifestyles. The towns have a range of Victorian terraced houses and larger semi-detached and detached homes, as well as modern apartments and townhouses.
The Peak District National Park has a variety of properties available, including traditional stone cottages and farmhouses. These properties often offer a more rural lifestyle, with easy access to outdoor activities and stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
The town of Leek has a range of period properties available, including Georgian townhouses and traditional stone cottages. These properties often offer a more characterful living experience, with many original features and historic charm.
