Posted on Monday, July 7, 2014

Over the weekend there has been a useful article published by The Guardian newspaper relating to lender criteria on property construction. When valuing a property, our surveyors have to bear in mind the guildlines set out by the various mortgage lenders as to whether they consider certain types of non-traditional construction as suitable for lending purposes.

In fact, there are lots of different guildlines on many properties (not just timber frames) such as the number of storeys in a block of flats, and whether there is lift access, or the type of cladding used on a property.
