Valuation or Survey?

Posted on Friday, March 13, 2015

The RICS have released a useful video for all potential home buyers which explains the difference between a valuation and a survey. It is important that home buyers understand that a valuation is not a survey.

A mortgage valuation is completed on behalf of the mortgage lender and is not for the benefit of the purchaser. However, an RICS HomeBuyer Report will provide a home buyer with information about the property and any potential problems they need to be aware of, prior to commitment to purchase.
