RICS Press Release – Homeowners prompted to consider flood defences

Posted on Friday, March 28, 2014

Yesterday (8th April 14), the Royal Institution for Chartered Surveyors issued a press release recommending that homeowners recently affected by the floods should investigate the potential for further flood proofing measures to their properties. It was reported that the average cost of restoring a flood-hit 3 bedroom house could be an average £30,000 with additional flood proofing works costing an extra £15,000.

Homeowners should think about the costs of these additional works in balance with potential future savings in both time and money.
