What made you decide to be a surveyor?

I started life as an estate agent and always enjoyed working with, and being in awe of, Chartered Surveyors.

How long have you been a surveyor?

I have been qualified as a surveyor for 21 years and started Pinnacle Surveyors with my co-founder in 2010.

In the area that you cover, which place do you most like to visit?

Ashbourne. It is where I live and is the Gateway to the Peak District.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?

I would love to predict all of my beloved Derby County’s scores.

Any funny stories that have happened whilst you have been a surveyor?

I once got chased out of a garden by a Cockerel – not a fun experience!

Tell us a bit more about Ashbourne and Derby?

My home town of Ashbourne is known for its picturesque countryside, historic buildings, and vibrant community. The property market in Ashbourne offers a mix of residential properties, including houses, apartments, and cottages.

Ashbourne is a popular place to live due to its beautiful countryside setting, easy access to outdoor recreational activities, and convenient location within the Peak District National Park. The town has a range of amenities, including shops, restaurants, schools, and healthcare facilities, making it an attractive location for families and professionals alike. Ashbourne is home to the famous Shrovetide match which takes place yearly – the Up’Ards take on the Down’Ards each year in this game of medieval football.

Derby itself has a diverse range of neighborhoods and areas, each with its own unique character and property market. Some popular areas in Derby for residential properties include Littleover, Allestree, Mickleover, and Darley Abbey, among others. These areas offer a mix of housing options, from modern developments to period properties, catering to different budgets and preferences.
