What made you decide to become a surveyor?

I was unsure what to do after school so I went to a career advisor who told me I was best suited to a career in property. I still haven’t a clue why though!

What is your favourite part about being a surveyor?

Saving clients money by spotting defects.

How long have you been a surveyor?

25 years.

When you were a child, what was your dream job?

When I was younger I wanted to be an artist.

In the area that you cover, which place do you like to visit?

My home town of Lytham has some lovely properties, but I’m a bit biased!

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

Hitting a golf ball where I want it to go.

Any funny stories that have happened whilst you have been a surveyor?

My first day on a new job, I accompanied my boss on a repossession valuation. I needed a wee so sneaked off upstairs to the toilet not realising the services were drained down and the toilet bowl broken. My new boss was in the kitchen below the bathroom and got wet.
